Zetangole™ Download

Please read our terms and conditions regarding the software before downloading any of the game clients below. While we try to do our best to check contributed software for bugs, security issues and cleanliness, we disclaim any liability that may result from your use of the software.

Download Zetangole™ Faces, Java client written by "K".
To play using this client, you need an Internet-connected personal computer with the JRE 1.5.0 or later and the Java Media Framework 2.1.1e , both available from the source at java.sun.com. You will also need a webcam (We know that at least the Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks works fine). To play, unzip the contents of the distribution and double click on the batch file in the folder. To uninstall completely and tracelessly, delete the folder and empty your trash.

Much as we tried to make a completely self-contained client, it seems that at this stage, this game client requires the Java Media Framework 2.1.1e to be already installed on your computer at the time you start the game application. JMF is available at from Sun Microsystems at http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1.1/download.html . The game client uses the JMF to access your web-cam. Please read the README.txt file in the distribution for instructions on how to start the game.

Credits: "K", whom HashThySelf was fortunate to find through Craigslist offered to pick up a rudimentary version of the Java client prototype written by "S" and polish it up. What you have today is largely the result of K's meticulous work. K, who does freelance Java work, can be reached at krporeddy@yahoo.com.

Potential JMF 2.1.1e Installation Gotcha!

When installing JMF 2.1.1e from Sun Microsystems, make sure your camera is already plugged in. JMF searches for and registers media capture devices during installation. If you don't have a camera plugged in at the time of the JMF installation, you will have to run the JMF Registry program after installation and detect capture devices. But this is not intuitive or stated well enough for most users to know to do easily.
